As a first generation Mexican-American woman and therapist, my mission is to destigmatize mental illness within our ethnically diverse communities through a safe and non-judgemental environment. I understand the complexity that comes with being a person of color navigating through the mental health system, which is why I intend to integrate a cultural awareness and sensitivity approach. I aim to meet clients where they are and to apply interventions at their own pace.
My therapeutic approach is a blend of different modalities that include mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), client-centered therapy, culture-sensitive therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and inner child work. These techniques can help clients develop a mental health toolbox that includes healthy coping skills (relaxation techniques, worksheets, journaling, art,
exercise, etc.) to be able to navigate stress, anxiety, depression, trauma. self-esteem, and life transitions. My goal is to empower clients in creating a healthy and meaningful life by utilizing their strengths in order to meet their full potential.
I’m committed to making a positive impact in underserved communities and take pride in my role at KCWPSYCH, supporting our team in delivering exceptional services and guiding our clients on their journeys to mental health and wellness.
